Our Story

In late 2021, seven families gathered with a shared dream: to plant a life-giving church in the heart of Kirkland, Washington. Over 400,000 people call the Eastside of King County home — a beautifully diverse, fast-growing region with a deep need for more communities centered on Jesus. Those families began meeting together to worship, pray, and practice the Way of Jesus.

Before long, Kirkland Seventh-Day Adventist Church opened their facility to us, and in January 2022, we held our first Sunday gathering.

A Community Takes Shape
What started as seven families has grown into something we could only have dreamed of. People from over 40 nations now worship together at Woodmark — a living picture of the community God is building in Kirkland and across the Eastside. We gather every Sunday at 9:30 am and 11:30 am to worship, hear God's Word preached, pray for one another, and grow together in the Way of Jesus.

At Woodmark, we believe the call of Jesus is the same today as it was two thousand years ago: follow me. That means learning to be with Jesus, become like him, and do as he did — not just as a Sunday experience, but as a whole way of life. We are a community of apprentices, arranging our lives around the presence and practices of Jesus, and helping one another do the same. This isn't about religion as a label — it's about genuine formation, walking together in the ancient way of discipleship.

In just a few years, God has grown a thriving family of ministry teams and communities, including:

Worship & Music — leading our community into encounter with God
Kids & Youth Ministries — forming the next generation as apprentices of Jesus
Young Adults & Single Adults — community for those navigating life's big transitions
Married Couples & Families — walking together through every season
First Impressions Team — welcoming every person through the door
Prayer Team & Media/Tech Team — serving behind the scenes so others can engage

We believe the local church exists to love and serve the world around it. At Woodmark, that means things like:

Night to Shine — an unforgettable prom night experience honoring the special needs community
Single Parent Events — creating space and celebration for single parents and their children
Acres of Diamonds Partnership — serving homeless women and children in our region
Global Missions — supporting church plants across the U.S. and partnering with communities in Syria, Ukraine, and beyond

We are reaching Kirkland, the cities of the Eastside, and the ends of the earth — one person, one family, one neighborhood at a time.
